Postgraduate Physiotherapists .......................................... Our senior physiotherapists have all completed postgraduate Masters qualifications. Alison Low - Sports Physiotherapist Alison is a partner at *Ascend and a WAIS preferred provider. She has worked with many national and international athletes, including the Perth Orioles netball team for six years in the past. She is a guest lecturer at Curtin University for the undergraduate and masters physiotherapy programs.
Jo Norcott – Sports Physiotherapist Jo is a Titled Sports Physiotherapist and a WAIS preferred provider. She has worked for the past 14 years as physiotherapist for the WAIS women’s gymnastics programme and more recently WAIS diving. She is involved with research at Curtin University and is a physiotherapy provider for the Australian Gymnastics team.
Linda Spagnolo – Manipulative Physiotherapists Linda Spagnolo is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist who has worked in Australia and Europe over the past 11 years. She has spent many years working with sporting teams and athletes in a variety of sports including Australian Rules
Evan Coopes - Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Evan works part-time at *Ascend in conjunction with his principal role as a lecturer in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Curtin University. He is a Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with a particular interest in patients who require manipulative physiotherapy and especially more complex cases.
Senior physiotherapists ................................. Peter Gregory - Managing Partner Peter has been at *Ascend for over ten years and in 2009 completed further qualifications in manual therapy. He has been team physiotherapist for sports teams including the Perth Wildcats, state football, rugby, netball, Gymnastics WA and is a WAIS approved physiotherapist. Peter is doing further Masters level study in 2011.
Jacinta Downey Jacinta has just returned to Ascend after spending a year living in Ghana. Previously Jacinta had been at Ascend for five years, also having worked with East Fremantle Football Club and Perth Orioles, and she has completed further studies in Women’s Health physiotherapy.
Physiotherapists ....................... Ben Mather Ben graduated from Curtin University in 2007 and has been with *Ascend since 2008. Ben works part time with the Emirates Western Force, he is the physiotherapist for the Western Force Academy and State representative rugby teams, and also works with GymnasticsWA. He has an interest in functional rehabilitation and is currently doing his Masters degree. Ben has also treated a few stars including Pink, Lady Gaga, Usher and Sir Cliff Richard!
Chris Perrey Chris completed a Graduate-Entry Masters in Physiotherapy from Curtin University. Currently the Cottesloe rugby club physiotherapist, he has worked with Wests Subiaco rugby club for four years, has toured with Perth Gold and State Under 20s rugby teams and has worked with a number of other sports teams including the WA soccer team and Central West Lions netball team. Chris is a competing track and field athlete, with several national Masters titles under his belt, and has a keen interest in sports physiotherapy and acupuncture.
Massage therapists ........................... Our massage therapists, Vic and Michelle, have both completed their diploma of remedial massage and have years of experience, including working with elite athletes. Private health rebates are available for your next massage.
